Educational work

For several years, the teaching staff of the department has been conducting educational work with students of the Faculty of Dentistry.

In the 2019-2020 academic year, the department was mentors for 5th year students, in 2020-21. – 2 courses.

The priority areas of educational work of the staff of the department are:

  • Preservation and enhancement of the traditions of the University, promotion of its history, symbols, values.
  • Promotion of anti-corruption thinking, healthy lifestyles, patriotism, common human culture among students.
  • Carrying out preventive work to prevent extremism, terrorism and non-proliferation of destructive religious movements in the student environment.
  • Organization and holding of cultural events of civil-patriotic, spiritual and moral direction.
  • Organization of events for the prevention of religious extremism, offenses among student youth and the fight against corruption.
  • Fostering a positive attitude towards socially useful work, involving students in volunteer activities and charity.

An integral part of the department’s work is to conduct events that educate civil-patriotic and spiritual-moral manifestations within the framework of “Рухани Жангыру” (“Spiritual Revival”): round tables dedicated to the great poets, writers, researchers, scientists of Kazakhstan.

2019-2020y.
  1. The teaching staff of the department, together with the students, participated in the competition of student works – “I am against corruption”. Wall newspapers, posters, essays were prepared.
  2. Students of group 009-1 (Baskakova I.V.) took 3rd place in the poster competition. The mentors of the groups spent curatorial hours on the results of the semester and on the upcoming session.
  3. Teachers and students listened to a lecture on the topic: “About the prevention of religious extremism and terrorism in Republic of Kazakhstan” on February 14, 2020. The lecture was read by: Ph.D. lecturer at the Academy of the National Security Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dzhumanova. Ass. Dolgikh V.R. held a curatorial hour on the topic “World terrorism and its impact on youth”. Group ST15-013 of the English branch.
  4. Among the students of the 3rd course Ass. Sukhacheva T.M., Kumarbaeva A.T., Baskakova I.V., Dolgikh V.R., a “Club of the cheerful and resourceful” (CCR) was held, dedicated to the International Day of the Dentist.

  8. In accordance with the university-wide program of the “Year of the Volunteer”, a preventive examination was carried out for 62 students living in hostel №1, enrolled in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd courses of the Faculty of General Medicine. 62 students of the hostel №1, General Medicine, February 2020 Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Zholdybaev S.S., undergraduates of the department.

From the moment the groups are attached as mentors, online and offline feedback is provided weekly.

The students were informed of the need to implement trilingual education in accordance with the Strategic Development Plans of the Republic of Kazakhstan and NJSC “KazNMU named after S.D. Asfendiyarov” (19.10.2020).

A portfolio form was introduced (pilot version) (November 16, 2020).

In accordance with the control instructions, on November 25, 2020, curatorial hours were held, during which the following issues were considered:

  • information on World Antimicrobial Awareness Week;
  • on preparation for intermediate certification;
  • about some aspects of academic integrity during the educational process and during the period of exams;
  • on the procedure for passing the exam in the discipline “Fundamentals of Therapeutic Dentistry”;
  • on the correct filling of the student’s portfolio.

On 03.10.2020, the assistants of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry Mangytayeva B. B., Urazbaeva B. M., together with the curatorial groups of the 2nd course CT19-002-01 and CT19-002-02, organized a charity event to help large families during the quarantine period. Curatorial groups presented food products, yoghurts, fruits, sweets to children. The mother and children could not hide their joy, expressing boundless gratitude and gratitude to the students who helped in such a difficult moment. Professor of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry Zholdybaev S.S. provided financial assistance to a large family.
